Maryland Crab Cakes

These crab cakes are done Maryland-style, but are very healthy as they are low caloric density. This recipe was originally taken from the “Noom” database.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 celery rib, finely chopped

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 tablespoons chopped Italian Parsley

  • 2 tablespoons fat-free mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon crab boil seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 pound lump crab meat

  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs

  • 2 Roasted Red Peppers

  • 1/2 cup Fat-Free Mayonnaise

  • Fresh Black Pepper

Directions

  • Puree the roasted red peppers in a food processor or blender.

  • Add the mayonnaise and black pepper and process briefly to combine. Set aside for later.

  • Add the onion and celery and cook for 5 minutes, or until soft. Place in a large bowl.

  • Add the lemon juice, egg whites, mayo, parsley, crab boil season, dry mustard, and paprika. Stir well.

  • Add the crab meat and mix throughly.

  • Form into 8 patties. Roll in bread crumbs to coat completely.

  • Air Fry patties at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.

  • Gently turn patties over and airfry another 5 minutes until crispy brown.
