
Chicken Divan
Chicken Divan is a chicken casserole usually served with broccoli and Mornay sauce. It was named after the place of its invention, the Divan Parisien Restaurant at Chatham Hotel in New York City where it was served as the signature dish in the early twentieth century.
Ingredients
3 Chicken breasts
2 cans Cream of Chicken soup
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 1/2# broccoli crowns
Directions
Par boil chicken for 10-15 minutes
Steam broccoli until tender. Once broccoli is done, spread evenly on bottom of 9x13 cassarole dish
Hand shred chicken and spread evenly on top of broccoli
Mix soup, lemon juice, and mayo in bowl and then pour over chicken
Sprinkle cheese on top. Mix butter into bread crumbs and sprinkle over cheese.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees
