Apple Crisp
One of the definitive desserts of fall, apple crisp is easy and economical. Under the simple butter-sugar-flour topping is the apple filling scented with cinnamon. The best apples to use for apple crisp are baking apples like Gala or Braeburn. Experiment with different types of apples and see which you prefer.
Ingredients
8 Baking Apples (peeled and sliced)
1/2 cup Sugar
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 cup apple juice or fruit juice
2/3 cup Sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/3 stick margerine
Directions
Mix first 5 ingredients in large bowl with hands to fully coat.
Place in 13 x 9 greased glass pan.
Mix last 4 ingredients and cut up with pastry fork until it separates into small pieces. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake 1 hour @ 350 degrees. Cool before serving.
